How does UV-C disinfection work?

Ultra Violet light, invisible to the human eye, causes irreparable damage to micro-organisms. Each organism needs a specific amount of UV radiation to deactivate it. The high energy of UV-C radiation breaks the bonds in the cells DNA, destroying the hereditary properties of the cell. As a result, the cells of the micro-organism are not able to replicate anymore.

Why should you use UV?

UV is a non-contact, non-chemical, non-taint disinfection technique that leaves no residual. The only input is electro-magnetic energy in the form of light. No other disinfection technique offers this unique set of advantages. Because of this, UV light is highly suitable for disinfection where hygienic, bacteria free conditions are demanded or required.
